Balfours Frog Cakes (and Grand Final Part II)

First, I'd like to say that the Grand Final Part II happened on Saturday. I didn't make a whole post about it, because 1) we didn't do anything for it and 2) it wasn't an interesting game. Friday night's events left me feeling very tired the next day. We wanted to go watch it at a pub and enjoy the nice weather, but we didn't have the energy to even follow up on it. We watched St. Kilda get slaughtered by Collingwood on our couch on Saturday afternoon. It was never intestesting, because they were basically killing them the whole game. It doesn't deserve its own post! You should have won, Saints!

Instead, let's focus on what I picked up at the grocery store yesterday. Little frogs!

A Balfours Frog Cake twin pack, to be exact. I've never had one of these before, and apparently they are a must-try. This was recommended to me by my friend Shona. She also bought the green frog cake that I showed to you yesterday. She must be obsessed with frogs. Since I loved the cake on Friday night, I figured I better trust her on this.

You can usually find these adorable guys in Aussie bakeries. Look at his little face. He's just begging me to eat him!

I cut through the middle and found a delicious mixture of cream, cake and frosting.

Yummy!

All in all, my frog tasted like a petit four (you know, those delicious British tea cakes??) with some cream on the top. It was very rich, but I loved it. I'm not really a big cream person, but this was so sweet and sugary. You know...when the sugar just crunches between your teeth?  Al and I cleaned up both of them over a couple of hours. Maybe I'll try a pink frog next time.

Ahhhh I love 3-day weekends. I just got back from a bbq at Al's parent's house, and I am stuffed. We also had daylight savings time yesterday, so we moved our clocks forward one hour. We are 15.5 hours ahead of Chicago now.
