Christmas time is approaching. The time in between Thanksgiving and New Years Day has always been my preferred time of the year. Sure, the warm weather during the summer in the Northern Hemisphere is great. I thrive from spending most of my time outside in the sunshine. There is just something that I adore about Christmas cheer, though. I love watching Christmas movies and cuddling up inside. I cherish going to State Street and looking at the windows. I live for the music. Last year, however, I had my first Aussie Christmas. Instead of getting colder, it got warmer. For my work Christmas function, I wore a sun dress. Christmas Day was hot and sunny. We all wore funny paper hats. The day after Christmas, we drove an hour south to explore beautiful beaches. Back in the city, we went to a riverbank Christmas display that was sponsored by Adelaide's West End Brewery. A few days later, we got ready for our New Years celebration. All we needed was a bathing suit and a towel. We stayed at our friend's shack about 1.5 hours south of the city. Aussies like to call their vacation houses "shacks". We saw a lot of cows while we were there. We swam and watched people play cricket on the beach. One year ago, I didn't take very many pictures. Let's hope this year is better! I have to admit, that's a very funny picture.
